X11 for Mac OS X offers a complete X Window System implementation for running X11-based applications on Mac OS X. Based on the de facto-standard for X11, the open source XFree86 project, X11. Apple created the XQuartz project as a community effort to further develop and support X11 on Mac. The XQuartz project was originally based on the version of X11 included in Mac OS X v10.5. There have since been multiple releases of XQuartz with fixes, support for new features and additional refinements to the X11 experience. Apple is a contributor to the XQuartz project and has worked to ensure that X11 works as expected with macOS and latest available versions of XQuartz.

X11 server and client libraries for macOS are available from the XQuartz project at www.xquartz.org. Download the latest version available.

Why is library hidden mac 10. Just like the Windows operating system, the MacOS operating system has a hidden Library folder full of settings you shouldn’t really touch. Deleting some or all of these settings will at best force you to reinstall certain apps, and at worst, cause the whole system to collapse and require a complete reinstall.But there may be times when accessing the Library folder is necessary.

Mac OS X Yosemite created a new linking issue with MNPP, which was similar to this OS X Mavericks issue (#28):

You also have to have x11 (xQuart) installed. That was the problem in my case.
You can download it from here.

After I ran the installer and rebooted my machine I could run 'xgterm &' from my terminal.
