alirahman: When you make the connection, you will see everything that is 'downstream' of the virtual root. The 'solution' to this is to create the map directly to the document library.
    Example: https://.sharepoint.com/sites//DocumentLibrary
This will make the 'root' of your mapped drive to be the DocumentLibrary.
If you map the drive to , you will always see all the site content folders.

    Hope this helps

I have just completed setting this up for one of my clients. Here are a few things that I learned along the way:
    > You can only map drives from a Windows computer. There is no way to map a drive letter to SharePoint on a Mac. This is because you must use Internet Explorer to set this up. It will NOT work if you try to use any other browser, even Edge.
    > On Server 2008 R2 systems, I have been unable to map a drive letter to a Document Library. I have only been able to map a drive letter to the SharePoint Site. I have no idea why this is the case, but that is the behavior that I experienced.
